Our CPR Group has had an exciting year - We are living out a miracle of God's
Grace.
The beginning of this year, 2007, we decided to step out in faith and commit to
going to Guatemala for a "3rd world" mission experience.
We had 25 people make the trip. Our fund raising goal was set at $32,500.00 - or
$1,300.00 per person - which was a lot of money and a big step.
We left for Detroit airport at 5:30 PM Thursday, December 26, 2007 and Returned
home January 3, 2007.
Below are some pictures of our project.

Our Mission Project - Building Houses in Guatemala
Building up the walls and putting the roof on
We also spent time with many of the people for whom we helped build houses

Today is Sunday. This is our group picture before church with the beautiful mountain scenery in the background.

Today was New Years Day 2008. We did some more small projects and spent some great time with the towns people - especially the children.
|
Today was our last day in Guatamala. First we dedicated the houses that we built and then after lunch, we traveled about an hour to hike up a volcano. We had an amazing view at the top and this is of our group in the lava pits. It was quite a strenuous walk; one that most of us were not used to :), but the beauty made it worth while.

We've had a great trip to Guatemala. We have experienced many things that will
be with us forever. We want to thank everyone for their prayer support as well as
their financial support that made this experience possible. We also thank our
leaders Steve and Pam for having the dream to make this happen and especially
thank Ross and Kathy for all they have done to coordinate this whole project.
