My connection with Christ’s Church goes all the way back to my growing up years, when my father was a minister in various Christian Reformed congregations. My personal call to pastoral ministry came during my final two years of college and especially following my college graduation, as I was able to much more fully involve myself in the life of my local congregation. I enrolled at Calvin Theological Seminary in 1994. Following my graduation in 1998 I was called to serve Prairie Edge CRC in Portage, MI. After having served that congregation for nearly 21 years, my wife and I, along with our three daughters, discerned the call to serve Graafschap CRC. My particular passions in ministry revolve around worship, preaching, and teaching. It is such a joy bringing God’s Word to God’s People and inviting them to bring that Truth into God’s World!

I have had the privilege to be involved in Youth Ministry since 2001, upon my graduation from Reformed Bible College. Ministry opportunities have taken me between Pella, Iowa and Holland, MI. Graafschap has been my church home since 2011, and here I worship and serve with my wife and four children. Teaching the Bible is one of my joys and passions, and I love doing this with students in middle school and high school, as well as with young adults. One of my life verses comes from Jeremiah 29:11-13, where God reminds His children that he has plans for their lives filled with Hope, and this is something I love to challenge the students to live by each day.
